Sometimes referred to as a furnished apartment, executive suite, or short-term rental, corporate housing is a temporary solution for anyone moving or remodeling their home. And it not only provides distinct advantages in these situations, but it also offers options that hotels — even extended stay hotels — cannot provide.
What is meant by corporate housing?
The Corporate Housing Providers Association, defines corporate housing as, “…fully furnished temporary housing, typically in an apartment setting.” Although not as permanent as your new home, corporate housing is not as temporary as a hotel either — it provides all the furnishings and comforts you need until your move-in date.
The benefits of corporate housing
Although there are many advantages to using corporate housing, here are the three main benefits:
- Location — First, you can likely stay in the same area you lived in previously. And, while it may be in a different part of town, it probably won’t interrupt your daily routine very much.
- Amenities — Corporate apartments are fully furnished, providing you with everything you need for daily living. In addition, utilities are included along with towels, linens, and kitchen utensils. Some companies such as Weichert Corporate Housing even have biweekly housekeeping, so you’re not doing all the cleaning yourself.
- Cost Effective — If you’re staying in a corporate apartment, the price per night is usually less expensive than a hotel. Plus, since corporate apartments have a fully equipped kitchen and onsite laundry facilities, you don’t have to spend extra money on eating out or on laundry.
If you’re in the middle of moving or remodeling, a corporate apartment might be your best short term rental option.
